De Biotech Campus Delft is de afgelopen jaren sterk in ontwikkeling en huist tegenwoordig een levendige innovatie hub met als missie om met biotechnologie als sleuteltechnologie de transitie naar een duurzame economie en gezonde voeding te versnellen. Er wordt nu een belangrijke nieuwe stap gezet in de ambitie van de Biotech Campus Delft; een samenwerking met Hogeschool Inholland om nieuw talent te ontwikkelen voor de snelgroeiende biotechbedrijven in onze regio en oplossingen te bieden voor het wereldvoedselvraagstuk van morgen.

Fenneke Jolink recently joined the Planet B.io team as Project manager, taking up special assignments that contribute to the services Planet B.io brings to its community. Fenneke has a MSc degree in Bioprocess technology from Wageningen University and then worked at DSM R&D in science, tech-transfer and project management for the biosolutions and food enzymes businesses, for almost 19 years. She brings a huge amount of valuable experience in biotech science and project management.

Together with HollandBIO and Johnson & Johnson, Planet B.io organized an event to explore best practices for bringing science "from bench to business". The event brought together more than 100 stakeholders including start-ups, industry, Technology Transfer Organizations (TTOs), academia, investors and enabling organizations.

Planet B.io is the open innovation hub for industrial biotechnology. We create a unique and inspiring environment for biotech businesses to grow. What if you are not located in Delft, but still want to join our ecosystem and benefit from our network of startups, scaleups, corporates, knowledge, talents, mentors, and investors? We launched the Planet Bio membership, and herewith introduce our very first member; Sophie’s BioNutrients, a startup from Singapore focusing on sustainable protein production.

The beginning of a new year is a great opportunity to take stock of the one that has just ended.
Despite the challenges that 2021 (again) brought, our biotech community in Delft has continued to grow successfully. We are proud to now have 18 amazing companies on campus! 2022 will be dedicated to further expand the Planet B.io community, both on the Biotech Campus Delft and outside.

With the delivery of the third floor and its social area, the renovation of the Beijerinck Center has been completed at the beginning of August 2021. After several internal moves and welcoming a new resident, the building is almost fully let. It is time to take stock and to look ahead.

How can we provide protein for ten billion people? The collection of solutions to this problem is called ‘the protein transition’. The Biotech Campus Delft is leading the way.

What is a open innovation environment without a nice social area to engage with the rest of the community? A firm's hotel! On July 1st, the newly renovated social area on the second floor of our multi-tenant building, the Beijerinck Center, was officially opened.
